“Patentanwalt” is the title of a professional occupation under German law and under the German Rules for Patent Attorneys (Patentanwaltsordnung).

“European Patent Attorney” is the designation for persons admitted as professional representatives before the European Patent Office (EPO) under the provisions of the European Patent Convention.

“European Trade Mark Attorney” is the designation for persons admitted as professional representatives before the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market of the European Union (OHIM) in Alicante, Spain, under the provisions of Council Regulation (EC) No 207/2009 of 26 February 2009 on the Community trade mark.
